Hi I’m Mrs. Shelly

Hi, I’m Mrs. Shelly, creator of Ready Set Prep. I hold a master’s degree in teaching and a California teaching credential. My educational background also includes a bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts and Dance, along with associate degrees in Fashion Design and Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

I’m also a mom of six — yes, they are all mine — and it has been one of my greatest joys to watch them learn, grow, and develop in their own unique ways.

I have several years of experience teaching Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten, as well as many years teaching dance to students ranging from preschoolers to adults. Through both the classroom and my own parenting journey, I have developed a deep understanding of the foundational skills children need before entering school.

I created Ready Set Prep to help children build strong kindergarten readiness skills in a supportive, engaging way. My resources are designed to strengthen important early learning concepts such as phonological awareness, one-to-one correspondence, and other foundational skills that support success in school. They are also a wonderful fit for families who homeschool or want extra learning support at home.

I am passionate about helping children enter school feeling confident, prepared, and ready to learn so they can begin their educational journey with a strong foundation.

Here’s a slightly shorter version if you want it to feel tighter for a blog intro:
